As a provider of curriculum to high schools, we are considered a school official under FERPA and have access to student education records on a need-to-know basis. Budget Challenge does not use or import student education records and does not collect personally identifiable information as part of its registration process.
We handle student information with the utmost care and adhere to the following FERPA principles:
- Limited Access: Only authorized employees with a legitimate educational interest have access to student information.
- Data Security: We maintain stringent security measures to protect student records from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
- Data Use: Student information is de-identified and used solely for the purpose of providing curriculum and is not disclosed to third parties without appropriate consent or legal authorization.
- Data Destruction: Student information is securely destroyed or disposed of when no longer needed for instructional purposes.
