Texas set a high bar for a financial literacy elective class. Guess what program exceeds it?
When it comes to high school financial literacy requirements, 50 different states means 50 different approaches from no standards, to suggested standards, to a handful of states that actually require either an elective or required course for graduation. Texas requires students to either learn financial literacy though standards embedded in other classes or through an elective stand-alone financial literacy class that must be offered. The standards for the financial literacy elective class are comprehensive and require real-world application. There are 62 standards and only one program meets them all - Budget Challenge.
